SpinVox was established in 2003 when Christina Domecq, co-founder and CEO, received 14 voicemails in one morning and asked: “Why can’t I get my voicemails as text?”
That moment of frustration led her to found SpinVox with Daniel Doulton, now VP Marketing, Strategy and Development. Together they have not only built a global company employing in excess of 300 people but have also created and delivered an entirely new messaging category. This, they have named `Voice-to-Screen` and it is transforming the way people communicate.
Delivered using SpinVox’s Voice Message Conversion System (VMCS) Voice-to-Screen messaging is transforming the voice messaging business by capturing any voice message, converting it to text and delivering it to any screen, whether on a mobile phone, PDA, PC or TV.
Now, people can not only Voicemail through SpinVox, but also Email through SpinVox, Memo through SpinVox or even Blog through SpinVox to a social or community website - fundamentally changing the way people generate content and interact using the Internet and World Wide Web.
This has proved a winning concept, and SpinVox initial subscriber base of more than 140,000 customers voicemail-to-text subscribers is growing exponentially, now that it has signed deals with global carriers, internet brands and media companies. Current forecasts estimate a subscriber base of at least six million in the first quarter 2008.
