nFinity’s QuickVoice Pro feature developed with SpinVox API. Enables iPhone users for the first time to speak their emails. London, New York – 7th, May, 2009.
SpinVox, a global leader in voice to content messaging, and Lincoln, RI-based nFinity have announced the launch of the first SpinVox-enabled application to be available through Apple’s App store.
With QuickVoice you can already conveniently record voice notes, reminders, dictations, meetings, interviews, shopping lists, to do lists, and even entire lectures and multi-session seminars. With the new enhancement, QuickVoice Pro users will be able use their iPhones for the first time to record voice messages which will be automatically converted to text by SpinVox and sent to the email inbox of the user's choice.
SpinVox API leverages SpinVox VMCS, the world’s largest commercial speech platform– a Cloud service which already has over 30 million users and is growing fast - to enable Speech 2.0 applications to be built and launched quickly.
It enables SpinVox to collaborate with third parties to foster further innovations in voice and expand the Speech 2.0 market.
SpinVox co-founder and CEO Christina Domecq says, “SpinVox API is the first open platform for the co-creation of a new category of services. It confirms SpinVox as the defacto standard for a new generation of speech products, delivering a reliable mass-market experience and developing new revenue streams for both SpinVox and its partners.”
According to nFinity’s business manager, Kerrie-Lynn Corcoran, as downloads from the App Store approach 1 billion, SpinVox API has enabled nFinity to develop and launch a brand new revenue generating application in a matter of weeks, taking QuickVoice into brand new areas and strongly differentiating the product from its competitors. “We simply could not have done this without SpinVox API,” she emphasizes.
SpinVox API was announced at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona in February 2009 and developers were invited to pre-register their interest in SpinVox API in advance of its launch via a web registration page – http://create.spinvox.com
Over 400 developers have already registered interest in SpinVox API and, of these, 20 have been selected by SpinVox to be part of the co-creation programme. Those selected include business efficiency, personal productivity, games and social networking applications on Apple iPhone, Nokia Series 60, and Microsoft Windows Mobile platforms.
