Initial campaign rolls out `Figures of Speech` into US market.
SpinVox, the award-winning founder and market leader in Voice-to-Screen™ services, today announced that Ema Linaker has joined the company as Global Consumer PR Director.
She joins Marlow, Bucks-based SpinVox, from Google EMEA where she was corporate communications and public affairs manager. Linaker will report to James Scroggs, vice president, consumer business. Alongside Scroggs and his team, she will be responsible for growing the existing SpinVox user base to six million by the end of 2007. Scroggs joined the company in June 2007 from his previous position as Vice President, Marketing, MTV Networks UK and Ireland.
"SpinVox continues to expand at an exceptional pace in order to meet the ever-growing needs of our users and partners," says Scroggs. "Ema's proven track record at Google shows that she has great experience at creating markets and a loyal user base using traditional and non-traditional media.”
“Her skills and experience matched precisely what we were looking for in order to take SpinVox from a `must have `amongst early adopters to a consumer standard. We are delighted to be able to deepen our team’s strength with a communicator who can help drive new business opportunities around the world," he continued.
"In just four years, SpinVox has achieved astounding growth - rolling-out across four continents – all based on an impressive combination of innovation, execution and leadership,” says Linaker. “My first challenge will be the initial consumer launch of SpinVox in the United States this week, managing events in both New York and San Francisco," adds Linaker. "This US campaign is designed to help consumers understand that they can not only Voicemail through SpinVox, Email through SpinVox and Blog through SpinVox, but now can Social Network through SpinVox.”
The unusual campaign, named `Figures of Speech,`is centred on exclusive events held jointly with the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) and street theatre designed to both intrigue and astound media and potential SpinVox users alike.
50 people all dressed in black and wearing giant ‘Letter Heads’ will be spelling out words and phrases to let people know that they can now ‘Speak Freely through SpinVox’. The SpinVox Speech Mob will ambush the breakfast TV shows in New York and move on to Bryant Park, Times Square and Gotham Hall, creating unique street theatre along the way. The SpinVox Speech Mob will move on to the streets of San Francisco on Thursday 25 October.
Linaker joined Google in 2003 from Kaizo and was initially responsible for Google's UK corporate communications and public affairs. In 2005 she was promoted to corporate communications and public affairs manager EMEA and subsequently took on responsibility for growing Google's user base and stakeholder relations across 110 emerging markets including Russia, Central Eastern Europe, Middle East, North Africa and South Africa.
