London - SpinVox, the leader in voice-to-screen messaging, will be a highlighted service when Palm, Inc. demos its new TreoTM Pro smartphone, announced this week, to media and analysts around the world.
Treo Pro, which runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, is ideally suited to exploit SpinVox voice-to-screen capabilities - especially one that underpins the most vital enhancement to voicemail in decades - converting spoken messages into text and delivering them as SMS and/or email.
Converted voicemails can now be read quickly - it is seven times faster to read a voicemail as text, than it is to dial-in and listen to one - and as digital content they can be sorted, saved, prioritized and responded to as email.
SpinVox is the only voice to text service available in English, French, Spanish and German - with the sophistication to deal with individual accents and regional variations such as US, Canadian, Australian and South African English.
"The new Treo Pro and SpinVox together offer a great way for end users to be more productive, by eliminating time needed to retrieve and listen to voicemail. We’re excited to work with companies like Spinvox, as they provide innovative, intuitive extensions to Palm’s devices", said Jonathan Wall, director of Developer Relations at Palm, Inc.
"Palm has cultivated a dedicated following of professionals around the world who expect advanced technology to help them succeed in today’s business environment", says Christina Domecq, CEO and co-founder of SpinVox. "As one of the fastest-growing hosted data services for carriers around the world, it’s a natural fit to demonstrate voicemail-to-screen services from SpinVox with Treo Pro."
"Combined, the service and device demonstrate real-time collaboration to energize the enterprise."
